As an FP&A analyst , you will be a core member to the finance team and directly report to the FP&A manager . Your role will be to leverage the accounting, financial and extra financial data to give visibility to every stakeholder at Animaj and support strategic decisions with valuable insights. Your scope will address a wide range of topics from Revenue management, production budget tracking, monthly reporting to stakeholders, budgeting and cash forecasting for M&A and/or fundraise. You will work in close collaboration with the top management , the accounting team as well as many other departments within Animaj.

Responsibilities

1. Financial reporting

  • Prepare monthly consolidated financial reporting (P&L, cashflows and BS).
  • Ensure consistency and accuracy of top line, margin, G&A, profitability, cash flow, and balance sheet items;
  • Update, review and analyze all financials & KPIs (revenue breakdown, performance and cash analysis by IP, current year trading, monthly actual vs. budget, free cash flow analysis);
  • Prepare a monthly dashboard presentation for founders and investors.
  • Identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement and advise top management accordingly.

2. Budgeting and Forecasting

  • Collaborate with various departments such as Accounting, Operations, Sales, and Digital to prepare an accurate and realistic annual budget;
  • Prepare mid-year reforecast based on actual performance and changes in the business environment;
  • Regularly monitor and report on budget variances, identifying areas of concern or opportunities for cost savings;
  • Prepare and update cash forecast analysis.

3. Financial Modelling

  • Build a financial model to project future financial performance and cash flows.
  • Assess the impact of various scenarios, and support decision-making processes. This may involve sensitivity analysis, scenario analysis, and valuation modelling.

4. Cross-departmental initiatives

  • Interact with other departments to understand their needs and provide strategic insights based on financial data to help decision-making.
  • Enrich FP&A analysis by collecting extra financial data from departments to ensure a deeper and more anchored understanding of Animaj processes.

5. M&A

  • Evaluate potential investments (M&A, content investment, …) or other major financial /business decisions using financial models.
  • Coordinate due diligence
  • Bringing financial intelligence to deal sourcing

You have a Master’s degree in Finance / Management;+2 years of successful experience in transaction services, investment fund, M&A and/or in a fast-growing tech startup/scale-up;A recent experience in a startup is a plus;Advanced knowledge of Excel, financial modelling tools, power query and power pivot;Experience with BI tools (such as Metabase, Tableau, Power BI, etc.) is a plus;You have strong analytical and quantitative skills with a solid understanding of financial concepts and principles;High attention to detail and accuracy;Outstanding written and verbal communication skills;English proficiency and experience working in a multinational environment;Ability to operate and lead in a fast-paced environment, managing priorities to meet deadlines.
