Export Control Investigator

Job Description

Airbus is looking for an Export Control Investigator (m/f) to join our Legal and Compliance department based in Toulouse, France.

In the context of the current effort to further implement Export Control regulations, there is a need to reinforce Airbus' ability to investigate any allegation of potential Export Control violations and, if needed, prepare the required disclosures to the relevant export authorities (especially the U.S. DDTC and BIS). The Export Control Investigations team within the legal department is responsible for overseeing this process at Group level. Investigations will cover company-wide operations, products and programs. Airbus relies on a talented and diverse network of Export Control professionals in all three Divisions across the regions who will also support the relevant investigations.

Your challenges

• Organize and coordinate Export Control investigations. This includes planning and conducting thorough investigations of export control alerts, the implementation of immediate remedial measures, identifying the facts, breached regulations, root causes, and most appropriate corrective actions to address export control compliance gaps.
• Manage outside legal counsel.
• Draft disclosures to be filed to the relevant government authorities and investigation reports.
• Draft internal reports and give presentations on trends, KPIs and relevant topics.
• Work with the Export Control function and Program Office on compliance program improvements and strategy to prevent recurrence of violations.
• Work with divisions, regions and subsidiaries to ensure adherence to the Airbus policies related to Compliance and Export Control allegations, escalations, investigations and voluntary disclosure.
• Play a key role in developing and deploying best practices in the conduct of internal export control investigations, especially through training and awareness sessions within the Export Control teams and other Airbus functions.

Your boarding pass

• At least 8 years of experience in the U.S. Export Control regulations (ITAR and EAR) and ideally also in EU Export Control regulations. Experience in the aerospace industry will be highly valued.
• Strong relationship building, networking, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strongly organized, action orientated, customer-focused and proactive.
• Multi-tasking and knowing how to set priorities in order to meet tight deadlines.
• High degree of credibility, independence, integrity, confidentiality and trust.
• Languages: English (fluent with excellent writing skills).
• This position might require a security clearance.
