Job Description

We are seeking an analog validation Engineer II for Microchip’s MCU division to support analog validation and characterization of new microcontrollers. You will be part of the Microcontroller Validation team, based in Nantes (France). As an analog characterization engineer, you will be involved in the characterization of the analog blocks embedded in our new microcontrollers to extract the electrical performances useful for the specification of the product datasheet. You will also contribute to the development of our analog/parametric test infrastructure. You will work with team members located in Nantes (France), Chandler (Arizona), Bangalore (India) and other company team members around the world.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in the development of new microcontrollers.
  • Strong collaboration (worldwide) with the analog design and integration, application, and product engineering teams.
  • Define the validation plans for analog blocks to be characterized (ADC, DAC, PLL, OPAMP, etc.).
  • Specify schematic for characterization hardware.
  • Embedded software development on new microcontrollers.
  • Automatic test bench development (NI Labview and TestStand).
  • Debug new products with design teams to identify root cause issues.
  • Analyze measurement results, correlate with design simulations, and write characterization reports for each IP.
  • Specify electrical performance of the analog blocks for the product datasheet.
  • Contribute to the overall improvement of methods, quality, and optimization of the validation processes (flow, tools, test infrastructure).

Required Qualifications

  • MSEE/MSCE from an accredited engineering school.
  • New graduate to 2–3 years of related work experience.
  • Good knowledge of analog electronics.
  • Some knowledge of Analog IPs such as ADC, DAC, PLL, analog comparator, crystal oscillator, Opamp, etc.
  • Experience with measurement methods and use of equipment such as oscilloscope, arbitrary waveform generator, multimeter, current and voltage source, etc.
  • Good analytical and problem‑solving skills (Debug).
  • Rigorous, organized, autonomous, motivated, and passionate.
  • English (fluent Write/Read/Listening).

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with microcontrollers: digital/analog functions and embedded software development (C‑based).
  • Automated test bench development: knowledge in Labview, Teststand, Python languages.
  • Collaborative development tools: JIRA, GIT, Confluence.
  • Data analysis tools like Excel, JMP, etc.
  • Interest in working in an international environment (Europe, Asia, USA).
