ISALT partners with management teams over the long term, deploying patient capital and actively supporting governance, strategy, and value creation.

Stratégie Horizon Dual (SHD) is ISALT’s latest investment strategy, launched to back the next generation of European sovereign‑tech and deep‑tech growth companies with up to 500M€ to deploy.

SHD focuses on businesses developing critical technologies with civilian and strategic applications, supporting their transition from innovation to industrial and commercial scale‑up across Europe.

The position

ISALT is seeking an Investment Director to join the SHD team.

The role offers significant responsibility across sourcing, execution, portfolio support, with an involvement in the funds strategy development and at Investment Committee level.

Key responsibilities

• Originate and assess investment opportunities in deep tech, sovereign‑tech, and strategic technology sectors
• Lead or co‑lead transactions from initial evaluation through execution and closing
• Actively support portfolio companies post‑investment, including strategic discussions and board‑level engagement
• Work closely with founders and management teams on growth strategy, industrial scale‑up, and financing
• Contribute to the development of SHD’s investment theses and long‑term portfolio construction
• Be an active member of the Investment Committee
• Build and manage a team of more junior investors

Profile sought

• 6–12 years of experience in venture capital, growth equity, or principal investing, with a strong deep‑tech orientation
• Demonstrated exposure to technology‑led companies, ideally in sectors such as digital, industrial tech, defense & security, space, energy, or advanced infrastructure
• Strong investment judgment, deal execution skills, and credibility with entrepreneurs and senior executives
• Entrepreneurial mindset, intellectual curiosity, and alignment with a long‑term investment approach
• Fluent in English; French strongly preferred
