Commercial & Marketing Director – Europe (Gen-Hy)
Location:Europe (role based in France)
Gen-Hy is expanding rapidly in the European hydrogen sector. We are seeking a Commercial & Marketing Director to lead our European business development, accelerate revenue growth, and strengthen our market presence across membranes, stacks, electrolyzers, and test benches.
Role Overview
Reporting to the Global CRO and the Managing Director BU Europe, you will drive commercial strategy, operational sales execution, and cross-functional alignment within Gen-Hy’s global matrix organization. You will lead a high-performing European commercial team covering sales, marketing, business development, and customer engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Strategy & Leadership
- Build and execute the European commercial strategy aligned with global revenue objectives.
- Translate business priorities into sales, market share, and margin targets.
- Develop an effective go-to-market model for long-cycle industrial projects.
- Position Gen-Hy solutions to meet the needs of industrial clients (steel, chemicals, mobility, energy, etc.).
Sales & Business Development
- Lead direct B2B sales and drive new project acquisition across Europe.
- Communicate high-value technical and financial propositions to senior stakeholders.
- Grow strategic partnerships with EPCs, OEMs, utilities, and industrial integrators.
- Implement disciplined pipeline management and sales forecasting.
Marketing & Market Intelligence
- Oversee regional marketing aligned with the CMO, including lead generation, segmentation, and product marketing.
- Deliver competitive insights and market intelligence to guide strategic decisions.
- Ensure consistent messaging and brand presence across Europe.
Customer Success & Lifecycle Revenue
- Partner with Customer Success to deliver an outstanding end-to-end client experience.
- Support service contracts, renewals, and upselling to increase recurring revenue.
- Implement structured customer feedback processes.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Build, coach, and lead the European commercial organization.
- Work closely with BU Europe leadership and global teams (Marketing, Technology, Finance, Execution).
- Promote a culture of accountability, performance, and sustainability.
Profile
Education: Master’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field.
Experience:
- 10–15+ years in sales, commercial leadership, or marketing in hydrogen, renewables, industrial gases, or complex industrial equipment.
- Proven success in scaling B2B industrial activities in Europe.
- Strong track record in long-cycle industrial project sales.
- Experience in global or matrix organizations is a plus.
Skills:
- Solid understanding of hydrogen technologies.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
- Analytical, data-driven, and process-oriented.
- Fluent English (French or German is a plus).
