Senior Consultant, Technical Advisory (Houston, TX)

Avanade Inc. seeks experienced consultants to assess client infrastructure, design future state IT strategy, support vendor selection, and provide pre‑sales support. The role requires travel up to 80% domestic and residence within commuting distance of Houston, TX.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess client infrastructure environments (standards, technology, tooling, capabilities, operating model).
• Create future state IT infrastructure strategy aligned with business strategy and guiding principles.
• Design customer flows and journey analysis.
• Support vendor selection and procurement engagements with technical and analytical expertise.
• Coordinate project work, including information gathering and economic evaluation.
• Provide pre‑sales support, including understanding client requirements, building proposals, statements of work, and effort/resource planning.
• Travel to client sites up to 80% of the time.

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in Azure and DevOps practices.
• Experience leading technical teams and engaging senior business stakeholders.
• Strong consulting, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to shape technology strategy, define architecture, and guide complex cloud transformation initiatives.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Azure architecture patterns.
• Experience with Azure cloud solutions implementation and operational transition.
• Validated experience in pre‑sales activities such as solution shaping, estimations, proposals, and client presentations.

Cloud Security Support Engineer (Australia)

Seeking a cloud security support engineer with experience in Azure Platform support and security engineering within complex ICT environments.

Core Responsibilities

• Support Azure Platform security operations.
• Act as a subject matter expert for Microsoft Azure security tools.
• Coordinate incident response, threat hunting, and log management.
• Manage security infrastructure including firewalls, IPS, WAFs, endpoint protection, SIEM, Zscaler, Proofpoint.
• Review security vulnerabilities and perform penetration testing.

Core Qualifications

• Knowledge of Australian Government information assurance requirements (ISM, NIST CSF 2.0, Essential 8 ML2).
• Experience with Microsoft Azure, Sentinel, Defender, Security Center.
• Hands‑on with incident response, threat hunting, and log management analysis.
• Familiarity with vulnerability management toolsets.
• Understanding of ITIL service management disciplines.
• Understanding of deployment of applications and infrastructure to public cloud (Microsoft Azure).
• Strong communication skills for presenting security issues to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Current knowledge of cybersecurity trends such as Zero Trust, XDR, and AI‑driven security analytics.
