Aircraft Maintenance and Technical Documentation Engineer on Propulsion Systems M/F
Airbus Commercial Aircraft is looking for a Technical Documentation Engineer (f/m) to join our Customer Services department, based in Toulouse, France.
As a Technical Documentation Engineer you will join the team in charge of maintenance manuals, including AMM (Aircraft Maintenance Manual), TSM (Trouble Shooting Manual), and IPC (Illustrated Part Catalogue). You will be responsible for the maintenance documentation authoring of the propulsion systems (Engine and Nacelle).
Responsibilities
Production Management
- Lead all authoring activities (internal and external) related to the AMM and TSM for the propulsion systems, guaranteeing on‑quality, on‑cost and on‑time delivery.
- Ensure weekly analysis of Airbus Design Office Data (drawings & design modifications) to define the impact on the maintenance manuals delivered to airlines.
- Manage the Engine and Nacelle manufacturers' source data, considering delivery planning, quality check and final incorporation in Airbus maintenance manuals.
- Monitor and steer subcontracted maintenance authoring activities.
- Organize and lead periodic technical reviews with Engine/Nacelle manufacturers and local subcontractors, managing technical queries, workload and priorities.
- Control and challenge subcontractors and suppliers performances, including the request and follow‑up of any necessary recovery action plan.
- Be accountable for aircraft maintenance instruction delivery (creation and updates) in full compliance with specifications, requirements, safety rules, contractual commitments, approved schedules, quality standards and within budget objectives.
- Identify and escape any risk related to priority, cost and quality.
Customer Support
- Ensure customer efficient support by answering daily customer queries and implementing maintenance instruction changes when necessary.
- Ensure customer support respecting defined performance requirements.
- Lead meetings with customers when necessary.
Transverse Responsibilities
- Propose ideas to contribute to the continuous improvement plan for Technical Data processes, documentation production activities, and IT tools.
- Share knowledge within the team for aircraft maintenance, Tech Data methods and processes.
- Contribute to the IPC pool within the team.
- Contribute to Tech Data project.
- Contribute to transverse Tech Data activity(ies) with the aim to support the team.
Qualifications
- Degree in engineering with 6 years experience in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of aeronautics, aircraft maintenance and aircraft systems (including propulsion systems).
- Dynamic, proactive with a positive mindset.
- Good team player and good organizational skills.
- Communication skills and assertiveness.
- Risk and opportunity management skills.
- Ability to demonstrate leadership.
- Curious and open‑minded for changes and continuous improvement.
- Advanced level in English (Bright Test – C1 level).
